CNN and its "fascist ritual"
That's what a so-called progressive calls the network's broadcast of the Trump town hall.
Former President Donald Trump and CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins engage in a “fascist ritual.”
CNN did a public service by doing a replay of Donald Trump’s bad side. (See my post.) But progressives are unveiling their real selves by blasting CNN for airing his town hall. It is an unthinkable attempt to censor a leading candidate for president.
These types keep accusing Republicans of trying to cancel democracy, but they can’t see the mote in their own eyes. Silencing the opposition is a key method of turning a democracy into a tyranny.
Now comes the most serious, damaging and untrue accusation about the CNN broadcast:
Noah Berlasky (follow the link to find out who this character is) said “CNN's Trump town hall was a fascist ritual.” [My emphasis]
Merriam-Webster defines fascism as:
a political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.
Sure, conservatives in general proudly praise and love America, but that’s no sin. America is praiseworthy. But let’s see how the rest of the definition actually applies to today’s progressives:
Progressives exalt race, dividing people into good and bad groups by the color of their skin. They have elevated race into the controlling fact of America and Americans.
Progressives also exalt “centralized autocratic government,” looking to Washington and its Blob-like bureaucracy for solutions to virtually every problem. Joe Biden’s attempt to rule by executive orders is a prime example.
Biden’s dictatorial instincts have been fueled by the far-left radicals behind the scenes that manipulate the president.
“Severe economic and social regimentation” best describes progressives who would send to hell anyone who, for example, uses the pronoun that accurately describes a person’s gender.
“Forcible suppression of opposition?” No explanation needed.
Calling people fascist reflects the 1950s, when so many people were, without cause, called “commies.” Progressives in this regard are Regressives.
