With 39,475 residents spanning fewer than 62 square miles, it should be a push-over. You could argue that the takeover is in the national interest because it butts against neutral Switzerland whose banks we might suddenly need.
Wait, here’s a better one: Monaco. It’s smaller but what the heck, there are those high-end casinos that undoubtedly are generating more cash than your thrice-busted properties on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
And why stop at Panama? Venezuela and its crude oil is perfect, wise acquisition. Other Central American states need to be ours to protect our investments in Venezuela. We don’t want Mexico and all its horribles; it’ll have be a vassal state.
Greenland would be a cake-walk. Our military is already there so its 57,000 residents can be counted on to run up a white flag. Sure, its an autonomous state belonging to Denmark, but what of it?
So the way I see it, the United States could become a multi-continental state, controlling North America, Central America and part of (for now anyway) South America. It’s as God always intended. This is the logical extension of the Manifest Destiny.
Look, Mr. President-elect, I know that with the Art of the Deal you must always start with the most extensive, most disruptive, most extreme position. That way, when negotiations get more reasonable it will put you in a good position to win, win, win.
So, I for one, don’t take your threats seriously. But these are not my countries. They are sovereign countries have a right under international and moral laws to be left alone to determine their own fate.
What strikes me is that you have created a major contradiction for yourself: You condemn “neocons'“ [neoconservatives] for wanting to involve us in foreign affairs, including wars. Your grand vision is basically isolationist. At least that’s what many of your ardent supporters believe.
But is there anything more the opposite of isolationism than literally taking over foreign, sovereign nations? Bitch as you do about “neocons” who would make us the “policeman” of the world, I’ve never heard of a neocon wanting to gather up sovereign counties as if they were just chips on the poker table.
Apparently you can’t make up your mind about what you are. America doesn’t want a president like that; it makes you look like Kamala Harris.
