Progressives: Stop pretending you're compassionate.
You and your puppet president don't give a damn about the human misery and deaths you're causing with your open borders lunacy.
Just in fiscal year 2021, 856 immigrants, including children, have died miserably—some drowning in the Rio Grande or dying of thirst in the dessert.
Some end up shivering and camping out in streets in border towns that can’t accommodate the overflowing thousands. That’s especially heartless as they arrive in the cold weather with only the meager clothes on their backs.
Unaccompanied children—feeling abandoned or frightened to death—stream through the Rio Grande for a fate of who-knows? Some reportedly are sex trafficked.
Everywhere you look, there are stories of human suffering, anguish and victimization. Cartels are making billions smuggling in humans and hundreds of millions of fentanyl pills. Tens of thousands of Americans are dying from overdoses.
How can anyone turn their backs on these and other atrocious ? What possesses the Biden administration to assert that the border is closed, when any fool can see that it clearly isn’t How can President Joe Biden be blind to the humanitarian crisis? To pictures of immigrants squeezed together, sleeping on the floor?
Remember the picture of the four-year-old girl that was abandoned in the open, sobbing. Whatever happened to her? Will any journalist try to find out?
Biden acts as if he doesn’t know. Never talks about it. As if it’s not happening.
Joining Biden in the silence are you progressives.
What happened to your supposedly superior compassion? You either don’t read or see any of the media that is honestly and courageously reporting the details of the catastrophe. Of you don’t care. Whatever; there’s a special place in hell waiting for the contemptible you.
Here’s a stunning example of your hypocrisy: When Florida and Texas governors sent a few busloads of immigrants to New York, Chicago and other cities, you flew into a rage. You condemned the governors, accusing them of ignoring their suffering. Biden spokesman Abdullah Hasan called the drop-offs a “cruel, dangerous, and shameful stunt.” Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre called the rides “political stunts.
Ya, sure. If shipping several busloads to “sanctuary cities” is so horrible, where is your interest in the rest of the 2 million immigrants that have illegally crossed the order end up? They’re herded around like cattle after their sometimes dangerous crossing of the Rio Grande River. Living in “cages” created by President Barack Obama. Living on the streets because the border towns have been overwhelmed. And finally shipped to unknown places, sometimes under cover of night.
Don’t you care about the fate of 2 million refuges? Have you followed the single men, the families and the unaccompanied children to their final destination? Are they safe? Are they impoverished? Are the single men a threat?
Do you give a damn about the smugglers who have poisoned tens of thousands of Americans? “Fentanyl overdoses become No. 1 cause of death among US adults, ages 18-45: 'A national emergency'. More adults between 18 and 45 died of fentanyl overdoses in 2020 than COVID-19, motor vehicle accidents, cancer and suicide,” reports a FoxNews analysis of available data.
Both sides can endlessly argue about the legal niceties of immigration reform. But this long ago passed a question of legalities. It has become a moral question. It’s not just a question of what the law should say and how present law should be enforced. It has exploded into a great moral question of this generation. History will look back and ask, “How could this have happened? What sense of right and wrong led so many Americans to have allowed this?” To borrow your favorite warning, “You’ll be on the wrong side of history.”
Aside from that is the twisted politics. When President George W. Bush, flew over New Orleans but failed to stop and look for himself the horrendous damage that Hurricane Katrina caused, he was roundly mocked by the political left. And rightly so. It spoke of a president who wanted to insulate himself from the tragedy.
Same with Biden. As of this writing, there is gossip about he might soon be going to the southern border to “see for himself.” The two-year-long delay of him getting there speaks even more loudly than the Bush flyover. How can any Americans watching the daily flood of immigrants, much less the president, not suffer at the sight of the results of the administration’s inhumane policies.
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,” reads a plaque at the Statue of Liberty. It doesn’t say we should ignore their suffering after they get here. It doesn’t say that when they get here, they’re on their own. Like you progressives.
Post Script: I know that what I’ve written will be called “hateful.” As if pointing out great suffering that has been widely ignored is hateful. I’ll be told that I can make the argument without being so “hateful.” But if hate is the question, then how hateful are progressive who are allowing this suffering, without speaking a word of objection.
Post post script: And the questions above I have put to progressives apply equally to the press. Night after night, the horrors are never mentioned or brushed over by so many reporters, editors and columnists. Even though Americans can watch for themselves thanks to daily live reports on FoxNews. Oh, I know, I not supposed to watch FoxNews because, well, it doesn’t toe the progressive line. Intensional ignorance, that is.
