If you're going to spout off about Trump's "bloodbath" remark, you damn well should first look up the definition.
And why, oh why, Trump, do you have to run your mouth?
1: a great slaughter
2a: a notably fierce, violent, or destructive contest or struggle; the campaign has become a bloodbath
b: a major economic disaster; a market bloodbath [Emphasis added.]
Heads are exploding over ex-President Donald Trump’s flinging around the word “bloodbath” in the below quote:
Now if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s gonna be the least of it," he added. "It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That will be the least of it. But they’re not going to sell those cars. They’re building massive factories.
Democrats/liberals/progressives insist that definition number one is what Trump meant. It is impossible to overstate how widely and loudly their warnings and whimpering are excreting from the likes of MSNBC and CNN hosts and commentators.
Sadly, the (if I may) basket of Biden deplorables depend on those outlets for their news and they will believe, as they are instructed to do, that Trump meant definition number one. Who knows, maybe Trump himself did mean bloodbath as a violent and literally bloody event.
Whatever Trump meant is almost immaterial. Trump played right into his critics’ hands by giving them just the right kind of ammunition they can use against him. To make a strong case—among Biden’s supporters and Trump’s enemies—that he should not be president ever again. They can make up all kinds of meanings, maybe even a literal bloodletting—that will reinforce the case against him.
Certainly, many Trump supporters enjoy hearing him talk that way—giving them hell, as Harry Truman might have said. His supporters think that the opposition deserves no respect and that they deserved to be ridiculed.
Trump’s fans already are certain votes for him. He doesn’t need to persuade them to vote for him. But he clearly needs the votes of the uncommitted, independent, moderates of both parties, even RINOs (Republicans in Name Only).
Every time he says something that can be viewed as even remotely dangerous and stupid—like using “bloodbath”—he loads his enemies’ guns with high velocity evidence that all the nasty stuff said about him is true.
In effect, Trump is helping get Biden elected in a close race. That’s the worst thing that can happen to Americans. And thanks to Trump motoring his mouth without engaging his brain, we might be looking at another four years of Biden.
Jeez. Thanks Trump. Are you truly that big of a moron?
it is like "reaping the whirlwind'? you know when Schumer threatened the Supreme Court Justices?
