Cis is short for cisgender, which is a term used to describe a person whose gender identity is the same as the gender assigned to them at birth. — MedicineNet
Nor am I non-cis. I’m not trans. And I don’t want to be called cis. If you do, I’ll take offense. Which means according to the woke playbook you can’t say cis because it makes me feel bad.
If a professor is going to use "cis in a classroom, he must be disgraced and fired. If at a social gathering, the use of cis is more than a faux pas. Anyone who uses it must be shamed and excluded from further social gatherings.
So, by what rule can I condemn and forbid the word? Isn’t it arrogant of me to tell others what they can say? And be punished for it?
Telling people what they can or cannot say is a foundational rule in the woke vade mecum. As a Hamline University professor sadly learned recently, the hurt feelings of just one student can get the teacher fired. Because, as the college administration said to justify canning the professor, preventing hurt feelings is more important than academic freedom.
Of the insistence that people be called the pronoun of their choice, never mind that one person is using a plural term to describe himself.
So, stop using cis in your in writings (propaganda). Don’t use it within earshot of me. Expunge it from dictionaries. Don’t use it in broadcasts or articles.
Of course, cis has taken on a negative connotation—for the woke. Like here:
Some other terms that have become cissexism and cisgender privilege. Cissexism is the belief that being transgender is inferior to being cisgender. Cisgender privilege is the unearned advantages that cisgender individuals have due to being cis
Phew, will it ever end, or is just the first stages of the coming dystopian? What’s next? One can only guess.
Well said!
