Bret: “How would you prepare for a hurricane like the ones we just lived through?
Kamala: “I’d make sure that everyone is safe.
Bret: How would you do that?
Kamala: “I’d make sure that we were prepared.
Bret: Yes, but how would you do that?
Kamala: “I’d make sure that everyone would know what they should do.
Bret: “Okay, would you know what you should do?
Kamala: “I’d make sure that I would know.:
Bret: “What do you think about reparations?
Kamala: “Let me be clear. Slavery was an awful thing. Just like racism is today. We should keep that in mind.”
Bret: “I’ll clarify the question. Would you be paying black Americans reparations—I mean cash—and how much?”
Kamala: “Make no mistake. It’s complex. It’s difficult. I’ll study it.”
Bret: “But that’s not an answer. Are you for reparations.
Kamala: “That’s a yes and a no. If you like black people, you would. We go around the world, checking out the root causes. We’ve found that slaves were shipped to…well, America. I would have stopped that, but, of course, I wasn’t alive then.” [Guffaw, guffaw, guffaw.] Nobody alive now was alive then too. I’d make sure that justice is done. Everyone deserves a share.
Bret: Sigh. “All right, why have you so clearly shifted your views on policy from your apparently life-long far-left political leanings?”
Kamala: “Look, I’m going the extra mile.. The only poll that counts is the election day. My good friend, Joe Biden, is someone I admire. He did good things. I’m going above and beyond. The American people…Frankly, with all due respect, I respect settled science. Deniers don’t. You know, I'm overwhelmed by the encouragement I have been getting. Folks know. The only poll that counts is on election day. This is the most important election of our lifetime. I don’t look at the polling. This is a game-changer. Partisans on both side need to stand shoulder to shoulder.
Bret: “I give up”
If only she were this lucid.
