Commute the life sentences of Larry Hoover? Trump, have you lost your mind?
Gov. Pritzker, don't you dare do the same!
Larry Hoover was a murdering thug, perhaps the worst to ever come out of Chicago short of Al Capone. Amazingly, Trump has commuted his federal life-time sentence.
Hoover was serving multiple life sentences for the crimes he committed as the “kingpin” of the Black Gangster Disciple Nation. Not to worry, though, I guess. Hoover will still remain in the penitentiary on state life-long charges. Or not.
Decades ago Hoover crafted a murder and extortion ring of some 6,000 members, selling dangerous drugs that generated an estimated $100 million annually.
In 1973, he was convicted in Illinois court for the murder of a 19-year-old for which he was sentenced to 100 to 200 years in prison. He later was convicted on federal charges for continuing to run his criminal enterprise from prison.
One can only hope that Trump’s action doesn’t encourage the Illinois Parole Board to wipe out the state charges. A bunch of luminaries have been calling for Hoover’s release. He has reformed, they say, as if that wipes out the bloodshed and misery for which he was sentenced. Who knows if the far left Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker thinks he can help his shadow campaign for president by pardoning Hoover.
Before Pritzker does anything, I hope he keeps in mind all the lives Hoover snuffed out and all the fear and agony he rained down on Chicago..
